Corpul Profesional Universitar (C.P.U.)
trade union was founded in November 1999 in order to defend the economic, social, political and cultural rights of all individuals working at the University of Oradea. In protecting the interests of the workers, C.P.U. draws inspiration from humanist, ethical and moral values. C.P.U. stands for the dignity of the worker as a human being, social justice and freedom of association, rejecting any kind of discrimination and exploitation. All these principles constitute the identity of the C.P.U. and are written down in the C.P.U. Statute.

C.P.U. is affiliated to the Romanian Confederation of Academic Trade Unions that is part of the World Confederation of Teachers. Being recognised as a representative trade union, C.P.U. has signed the Collective Bargaining, between Oradea University employers and employees about terms and conditions of employment, working hours, fringe benefits, job security, safety, and other matters relating to working conditions.
