Student`s rights and obligations are stipulated in the Order MECTS 3666/30.03.2012 and adopted within the internal Regulation, the Academic Code of rights and obligations of students, DS (Decision of the Senate) 10/18.06.2012, Annex 10 and DS 16/27.09.2012, Annex 8.
Students have the following rights:
- to receive free education under the current laws and regulations of the government. All citizens have the right to education, fully subsidized by the state and subjected to availability;
- student has the right to be informed in the first classes, about the structure and course` objectives, competencies generated by it and ways of assessment and examination. Students have the right to participate in the evaluation of courses, seminars, practical work and teachers;
- to use university`s facilities (laboratories, lecture halls, project and workshops, libraries, reading rooms, sports facilities, etc.) and all the means provided by the university, for a more thorough training, as determined by the University Senate. Students are entitled to free access to all areas of the university which allow the deployment of social, sportive and cultural activities as is pre-established by the management of the institution. Free access over the schedule it might be facilitated for the university students` organizations, informal groups of students which through their activities allow a suitable framework for an active involvement, development in social, cultural and sportive field of the university` students.
- to participate in scientific students` activity, in the activity of the artistic groups from college or university, of the literary circles, student clubs, houses of culture of students, in the mass and performance sportive activity of the university, academic clubs and sportive associations. Students have the right to be associated in student` structures and organizations of social, union data structures, professional, cultural or sportive;
- to receive scholarships and other forms of support, in accordance with laws and regulations established by the university and current legislation; Students have the right to receive indexed scholarships, from budgetary allocations or own extra-budgetary allocations and other special scholarships, according to the criteria established by the current legislation. The amount from the budget must cover a minimum of food and accommodation. In the case of social scholarships, budgetary allocation shall cover a minimum of food and accommodation and these may be combined with performance scholarships;
- to receive free medical assistance conferred by law;
- to be accommodated in dormitories and eat at the university canteen as it is provided by the current regulations. Students have the right to subvention for their accommodation that is indexed to inflation, which will be allocated individually, except for the students who are studying in the city of residence.
- to elect and be elected as a representative of the students, in the Board of the faculty, the University Senate or other bodies of the University.
- to benefit from mobility scholarships for studies at other universities from our country and abroad.
- to benefit from the advice of a teacher determined by the Faculty Council in matters of education, credits and professional training. Students have the benefit of a teacher of the year / section / group, depending on the size of these structures.
- to receive discounted rates in all cases stipulated by the current laws and regulations.
- students have the right to practice in accordance with the objectives of the curriculum and the right to access the material utilities: transportation, meal, insurance. Students have the right to the recognition of their individual practice made after the assessment of the achievement of their objectives of practice in accordance with the school curriculum;
- students are entitled to receive at the beginning of the first year of study a “Student Guide” with information about student rights and obligations, the details of the materials and facilities of the university, the method of assessment, method of determining fees, The university and faculty, information about student associations legally established means of access to scholarships, mobility, and other facilities and subsidies. The schedule will be posted at least three days before the beginning of the semester and will be countersigned by the head of year or head of the group. Schedules will be developed with the participation and consultation of students or their representatives;
- students are entitled to an objective assessment of their academic work and the right to know the scale after which they were assessed. Students have the right to object the exam notes, resolving of the complaint being made by a committee which is not made by teachers who initially evaluated, in the presence of the objector student if the student requests it;
- students benefit from discounted fee at least 50% for the local travel.
- student has the right to refuse to participate in the educational process more than 8 hours per day, at courses, workshops and seminars, unless they have practical training. Students can enjoy a two-hour lunch break, between 12-15, depending on the schedule of each specialization / academic year.
- examination by an alternative method, when they suffer a temporary or permanent disability which is medical certificate.
- copyrights and intellectual property for the results gained through the research activities, development, artistic creation and innovation, as is required by the current law.
- The right to benefit of an educational process focused on student in order to assure his personal development, integration into society and employability development, job retention and labor market mobility. The curricula will be prepared once they have been discussed with the students who are representatives for each faculty (from the faculty boards and senate members).
- reduction of 75% for the access to museums, concerts, theater, opera, film, and other cultural and sports events organized by public institutions, according to Article 205, paragraph 3 of LEN nr.1/2011 with the subsequent amendments.
- students are encouraged to participate in volunteer activities, for which they will receive a number of credits, according to Article 203, paragraph 9, of LEN nr.1/2011 with the subsequent amendments.
- students who are from disadvantaged backgrounds or those with outstanding results and students who are representatives from the faculty or university, benefits for places in theme camps within the budget for that purpose. In these thematic camps can be organized training sessions, non-formal, for which students can receive a number of ECVET or ECTS credits according to the university charter.
- admission candidates who comes from socioeconomic disadvantaged backgrounds or socially marginalized, including graduates of high schools from rural areas or in from with less than 10,000 inhabitants, can benefit from a number of budgeted places, guaranteed by law.
- students are entitled to free course materials in written or electronic format and access to all available educational materials, for free, in the university library or on the sites faculty.
Students have the following responsibilities:
- To meet with exigency, in good condition and on time all their obligations according to the curriculum and university programs for a good professional training;
- To respect order, morality and the rights of the others, both within and outside the university. The student is responsible for his whole conduct;
- To comply the provisions of the University Charter and internal regulations derived from it. Students are required to notify under the protection of anonymity, abuses and irregularities, and the right to request verification and assessment of these complaints by specialized bodies provided for by the current law;
- To carefully use the existing material goods in the educational areas, dormitories, canteens etc. The occurrence of some damages will be punished according to the current regulations;
- To respect the authority of the teaching, research and administrative staff as well as of the management structures from university and faculties;
- To pay the fees within established term. The fees and exemption / reduction of their pay is decided by the Senate;
- To inform the competent authorities about the existence of any circumstances which may affect proper performance of individual and general study;
- To use properly, according to the established purpose, all facilities and received subsidies;
- To observe cleanliness, peace and order in the university;
- To participate in the evaluation process of the quality of education in Romania.
- Political propaganda and any form of individual or group discrimination are prohibited within higher education institutions.
- To sign the school contract and its Annexes, in order to enjoy the rights they are entitled in the training process.
