Methodology of admitting foreign citizens from EU third countries for studies and schooling in accredited state and private educational institutions from Romania

The University of Oradea has 15 faculties, offering Bachelor and Master degrees in Romanian and English.

The following degree programmes are taught in English:

1. Licence:

a. International Relations and European Studies (3 years) in the Faculty of History, International Relations, Political Science and Communication Sciences

b. Geography of Tourism (3 years) in the Faculty of Geography, Tourism and Sport

c. Physiotherapy and special motor skills (3 years) in the Faculty of Geography, Tourism and Sport

d. Medicine (6 years) in the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy

e. International Business (3 years) in the Faculty of Economics

f. Business Administration (3 years) in the Faculty of Economics

g. Robotics (4 years) in the Faculty of Management and Technological Engineering

 

2. Master:

a. European Studies (2 years) in the Faculty of History, International Relations, Political Science and Communication Sciences

b. Advanced Systems in Mechatronics (2 years) in the Faculty of Management and Technological Engineering

c. Tourism, Management and Planning (2 years) in the Faculty of Geography, Tourism and Sport

d.Internationa Buissines Administration (2 years) in the Faculty of Economics

 

The medical residency program is conducted in Romanian only. Candidates must provide proof of Romanian language proficiency or attend a Romanian language course before applying for the residency programme.

 The academic year starts on 1 October

 Eligible candidates - candidates from EU third countries who have graduated from an accredited high school or college in their home country, which allows access to the study programme they have chosen.

 IMPORTANT:

  •  The University does NOT have any cooperation or representation agreements with agencies that broker candidate registration. Candidates who wish to apply through agents/agencies do not benefit from any advantage compared to candidates applying independently. Candidates take full responsibility for the accuracy and authenticity of the documents submitted, even if the documents have been submitted via an agent/agency.
  •  The only official website of our institution is www.uoradea.ro.

 

2. Language of study

a. Studies in Romanian

Candidates who do not have Romanian language skills may study in Romanian-taught programmes after having completed the Romanian language preparatory course in the year prior to enrolment. At the end of the preparatory year, candidates will acquire a certificate of language proficiency for Romanian. If candidates have a good knowledge of Romanian, they can take the Romanian language test organised by the Faculty of Letters, (email certificatelingvistice at uoradea.ro), after which they will be issued with a certificate of proficiency in Romanian. Only language proficiency certificates issued by universities accredited to issue this type of document will be accepted.

Candidates who submit Romanian educational documents (diplomas and certificates) or educational documents proving at least four consecutive years of study in a pre-university school or three consecutive years in a higher education institution accredited in Romania will be exempted from taking the Romanian language test.

 

b. Studies in English

Candidates opting for English-taught majors are required to submit at least one of the following documents: an internationally recognised English language certificate, proof of having studied in English, proof of citizenship of a country where English is the official language, or a certificate of proficiency in English issued by the Faculty of Letters (University of Oradea).  4. Admission

Candidates should send their documents to the following e-mail addresses: admissions@uoradea.ro , coardelean@uoradea.ro and csipa@uoradea.ro   

These will be evaluated at university level, which will send the list of candidates proposed for the issue of the letter of acceptance to the Ministry of Education - Directorate General for International Relations and European Affairs. Selections will be made at faculty level. After the results are posted, candidates must confirm their place by paying the tuition fee and registration fee.

5. Application processing fee

Before processing the application files, all candidates must pay a processing fee set at university level of 150 euro. This will cover the costs of processing the applications in order to issue the letter of acceptance to study. The application processing fee will be transferred to the university's account before the application is submitted. Proof of payment of this fee must be submitted together with the application file.


The application processing fee is non-refundable.

6. Documents required for the issue of the letter of acceptance to study submitted to the Admissions Office 365 in electronic format at admissions@uoradea.ro or coardelean at uoradea.ro, csipa@uoradea.ro

3. Birth certificate - copy and certified translation;

4. Copy of the document proving permanent residence abroad;

5. Copy of passport;

6. Copy and certified translation of the baccalaureate diploma or its equivalent, authenticated by the relevant authorities in the issuing country;

7. Copy and certified translation of the certificate attesting the passing of the baccalaureate examination for the current year's graduates;

8. Transcripts - copies and certified translations of the studies completed;

9. Certificate of completion of the Romanian language year or certificate of linguistic competence, as appropriate;

10 Medical certificate in English to prove that the applicant does not suffer from any contagious diseases (HIV, TB, Hepatitis C) or other diseases incompatible with the future profession)

11. Other undergraduate degrees in the medical field

12. Confirmation of payment to the university's account of the non-refundable application processing fee of EUR 150.

13. If the application is to be submitted by another person, the authorised person must submit a notarised power of attorney and a copy of the passport.

For registration, candidates must submit original and copies of documents certified for authentication by the Romanian Embassy in the issuing country or endorsed with an apostille from The Hague.

8. Payment of tuition fees:

Candidates declared admitted will confirm their place by presenting the proof of payment of the tuition fee, which must be paid in advance for 9 months, and the registration fee by transfer to the account of the University of Oradea opened at Banca Transilvania Oradea.

Important: When transferring money by bank transfer or cash, candidates will also pay a bank commission to Banca Transilvania Oradea. The final amount transferred to the university account must be the equivalent of the tuition fee for the period mentioned.


9. Obtaining a study visa

After obtaining the letter of acceptance to study, the candidate must pay the required fees and submit the necessary documents to obtain the study visa to the Romanian mission in the issuing country. Each candidate is obliged to contact the Romanian embassy or consulate personally. If there is no diplomatic representation of Romania in the country of origin, candidates are advised to contact one of the nearest representations of Romania.

 

10. Registration

After obtaining the letter of acceptance to study and the study visa, candidates must enrol at the faculty of their choice.

Enrolment of foreign nationals for all forms of study will be carried out according to the requirements of each faculty.

At registration, candidates must present the documents from the application file, in original, endorsed for authentication by the Romanian Embassy in the issuing country or apostilled by the Hague, as appropriate.


Documents required for enrolment at the University of Oradea
1. Original letter of acceptance to study

2. Certificates of studies (baccalaureate or equivalent) in original and a translation into Romanian authenticated by the Romanian Embassy in the issuing country

3.  Birth certificate - certified copy and a certified translation into Romanian
4.  Copy of passport, including study visa

5. 4 passport photos
6. Medical certificate translated into Romanian

7. Marriage certificate (if the applicant's surname has changed as a result of marriage)
8. Certificate of language proficiency, if applicable (English or Romanian)
9. Registration
fee (120 RON ≈ 24 euro)

These are the main documents that candidates must submit on arrival. Each faculty has the right to request additional documents or forms.
